MusiCounts has created a new program to help teachers and parents keep students engaged with music education at home. MusiCounts Learn is a space for teachers and parents to #StayInTune with the latest resources and conversations around music education in Canada. This will help ensure more kids have access to music education, both inside and outside the classroom.

Curated Resources

Here you can find a database of music education resources that help to facilitate at-home music education, curated by music teachers across Canada. This hub is fully searchable and can be sorted by category, meaning you can quickly find resources that align with your needs. Whether you’re a teacher in search of new ideas or a parent looking for ways to keep your kids engaged with music, this hub is for you.

Remote Music Blog Series

This open, ongoing series features video and written blogs submitted by teachers, parents and artists across Canada that discuss various tactics used to facilitate music education remotely. Educators can share how they are adapting their teaching practice to an online or distance-learning environment, and parents can share how they’re making music with their children at home.

Virtual Town Hall

On May 19, four teachers from across the country discussed the impact of COVID-19 on music education in Canada during MusiCounts’ first Virtual Town Hall Event, via MusiCounts’ Facebook page. You can re-watch the discussion by following the link below:

All educators and parents are encouraged to contribute to MusiCounts’ Remote Music Education Blog Series. Whether it’s a short written piece or a quick video, we hope you’ll consider sharing your perspective and joining this important, national conversation. Everyone who contributes before June 1 will be entered for a chance to receive 1 of 5 SHURE USB microphones.
