*Indicates A Founding Donor of the MusiCounts Leadership Circle

In early 2016 Stephen Stohn and Linda Schuyler made an extraordinary pledge of up to $500,000 in matching funds to MusiCounts, specifically in support of the Band Aid Program. Due to their long-standing history with the charity, they recognized that the MusiCounts has the power to continue changing the landscape of music education for children across Canada, and wanted to inspire others to get involved and support the mission of the charity. Thus the MusiCounts Leadership Circle was created, in which Stephen Stohn and Linda Schuyler matched any donation of $10,000 or more over the next five years. In 2019, two years ahead of schedule, MusiCounts raised $500,000 that has now been matched by Stephen Stohn and Linda Schuyler.

Although we have reached our goal for matching funds, with your donation you still have an opportunity to create a huge impact on kids across Canada. The musical instruments provided to schools across Canada will last up to 20 years and be enjoyed by generations upon generations of budding rock stars. Children will reap the many psychological, educational, social, neurological and emotional benefits of music.

What you can expect when joining the MusiCounts Leadership Circle:
Throughout the year and across Canada MusiCounts celebrates music education in schools by joining together with major supporters, renowned artists, local dignitaries and music program participants. We hope that you will join us at these special Band Aid Celebrations. You will also receive a package of information highlighting the impact of your donation – including contributions from some of the children who have benefited from our programs! You will also be invited to join us at special MusiCounts events during the annual JUNO Awards week and at other times of year. And you will receive a full charitable tax receipt for your donation.

“The work that MusiCounts does through its Band Aid Program has a widespread, tangible impact, not only for kids enrolled in school today, but for kids enrolling for many years to come. They will reap the benefits of music education because of the thousands of musical instruments MusiCounts supplies across Canada each year. I encourage everyone to join us in supporting MusiCounts’ mission to make music accessible to all children and youth.” said Mark Cohon, CARAS/The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts Chair.

Please contact Executive Director, Kristy Fletcher to discuss how you wish to be involved.
