MusiCounts has been a proud charity partner of the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) since 2013 and thanks to this partnership we had a wonderful Canadian Country Music Week in Calgary.
On Thursday Sept 5, CCMA winner, Lindsay Ell joined MusiCounts and the CCMA to surprise students at Father Scollen School with a performance and a celebration of the instruments the school received from MusiCounts. Read more.
Then, MusiCounts held a silent auction at the CCMA Gala Dinner & Awards, raising nearly $4,000 for the charity. Thank you to all of those who bid on items – your donation will help put instruments into the hands of kids who need them most.
The week culminated with the CCMA Awards broadcast on Sunday September 8 at Scotiabank Saddledome. The CCMA donated $1 per ticket to MusiCounts, and there was an in-venue 50/50 in support of MusiCounts and the Calgary Flames Foundation. Lindsay Ell joined Shanessa, a student from Father Scollen School on the CCMA Award broadcast stage to speak about MusiCounts and the importance of Music Education.
