MusiCounts is proud to recognize multi-platinum and JUNO Award winning artist, City and Colour as the MusiCounts Artist of the Month for April. City and Colour’s Dallas Green started his own musical journey when he was young. Music was an outlet for him, and support from teachers helped give Dallas the tools to pursue his music career. Dallas supports MusiCounts because he believes all kids should have the opportunity to access the benefits of music.
City and Colour joined MusiCounts at a school celebration in Toronto where he saw the school’s new instruments in action, gave a special performance for students, and did a Q&A with a music class – highlighting that music adds possibilities. Dallas also spoke about his own music education journey. Watch:
This school received instruments thanks to the generous support of City and Colour. On April 1, 2017 the “An Evening with City and Colour – Solo” tour across Canada launched, and City and Colour donated $1 per ticket to MusiCounts via PLUS1. In the same spirit, $1 from the sale of each City and Colour Guide Me Back Home album is donated to MusiCounts. Thanks to this generous support, many more youth across Canada will experience the incredible benefits of music. Thank you City and Colour for championing the importance of music education, and for your ongoing support of MusiCounts!
