Students receive $1,000 each, a commemorative certificate, a one-year complimentary CARAS membership, and two tickets to the JUNO Awards.

2010 MusiCounts Scholarship Recipient Feature
Alex Tait: Humber College
Alex Tait is a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Music -Contemporary Music program at Humber College. As a vocal major, Tait has proved herself to be both a stellar academic student and performer. During her four years at Humber College, she consistently received an Honours average each semester. She was placed in high-level ensembles as both a soloist and as part of an ensemble in a variety of genres including jazz and world music ensembles. Adding to her performance prowess is her strong improvisatory, composition and arrangement skills. Recently, Tait contributed both her voice and organizational skills to a fundraiser for the Haitian earthquake victims in 2010. Tait is currently pursuing a career as a musician.
