The Tragically Hip to present fourth annual MusiCounts Teacher Of The Year Award

MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS, has named Alex Voros of North York’s Chaminade College School as the fourth annual winner of the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award. The first teacher in Toronto to receive this honour, Voros will be presented this prestigious award today by artist sponsor, multiple JUNO Award-winning band and Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee The Tragically Hip.

MusiCounts national radio PSA campaign launches today on Astral Media radio stations

Astral Media Radio, with the generous support of Slaight Communications, is launching a national English and French radio campaign in support of MusiCounts today. To be aired on the company’s 81 radio stations across the country, this campaign features a number of recording Artists including Suzie McNeil, Gregory Charles and Kevin Parent, and aims to raise awareness of Canadians on the importance of music education in schools. Our most grateful thanks to the Artists for donating their time and talent, and to Gary Slaight, Rob Braide and the production team at Astral Media Radio for making this possible.
