MusiCounts received fantastic news! We finished 4th overall in the Pepsi Refresh Project. Thanks to all your votes, we were automatically re-entered in the running for the $100,000 grant for the next cycle! Twelve Students Are Rewarded For Their Excellence In Music Education

MusiCounts, partnered with CTVglobemedia, honoured the recipients of the MusiCounts Fred Sherratt Award at a ceremony at MuchMusic’s MuchOnDemand studio in Toronto. The annual Award recognized the achievements of 12 graduates of post-secondary music programs across Canada. In the spirit of the award, the audience was treated to a special performance of Thelonious Monk’s “Well You Needn’t” by five of the recipients. The performance clearly showcased the musical prowess of the recipients, as well as their true love of music and provided the perfect finale to the ceremony.

SHORE 104 FM a key supporter of MusiCounts

The recently launched SHORE 104 FM radio station, based in Vancouver, have become proud supporters of MusiCounts. Their hugely impactful donation will help fund Band Aid grants over the next 7 years in the greater Vancouver area. By providing the children in this area with the tools they need to learn to play an instrument, we are also providing them with skills that will help them to overcome obstacles, and will help them enjoy success throughout their lives.

“SHORE 104 FM is a local, community oriented independent radio station with a focused involvement in the Vancouver music scene”“In this spirit, as part of our community involvement, Shore Median Group Inc. has committed $125,000 per year for seven years to the CARAS – MusiCounts program which will support music education in schools in various neighbourhoods in our listening area.
